The Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia / Region of Western Macedonia and ECOWASTE4FOOD stakeholder representatives attended the Fourth Steering Committee and Fourth Interregional Workshop, held from 3 to 5 July 2018 at the Regional Council offices of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in Marseille, France. ECOWASTE4FOOD is included in and co-funded by Interreg Europe.
The Fourth Steering Committee met on 3 July 2018 with all its members representing ECOWASTE4FOOD partners. It reviewed project activities and discussed future planning and the changes needed to meet the project’s objectives. The technical consultant of the Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia / Region of Western Macedonia presented the activities undertaken and implemented during the project’s third six-month period and, together with Fund staff, contributed to discussions on future planning and the necessary Steering Committee decisions.
The Fourth Interregional Workshop, held on 4th and 5 July 2018, discussed the project regions’ Regional Action Plans and their acceptance by the Managing Authorities of the respective Regional Operational Programmes. Stakeholder representatives from all project regions attended, including an expert from the Western Macedonia Regional Operational Programme. The technical consultant of the Regional Development Fund of Western Macedonia / Region of Western Macedonia presented the revised Western Macedonia Action Plan, the methodology used to draft and revise it, and the consultations undertaken with the Managing Authority of the Western Macedonia Operational Programme 2014–2020. Progress in preparing the Action Plan and the Fund’s efforts to integrate its actions into the Regional Operational Programme served as an example for the other partners, most of whom had not yet prepared their plans and sought advice on drafting and consultation. The workshop concluded by discussing the next steps towards finalising Action Plans in all project regions: continued regional consultations, peer review and promotion through events in every project region.
