Article 1 – General provisions
1.1 Scope & Objective of the Action
The Action supports the installation of heat pumps in the residential sector to replace oil-fired or other conventional heating systems, as specified in this document. In addition, the Action gives
beneficiaries the option of using the heat pump to provide domestic hot water (DHW), and/or improving their home’s thermal insulation, and/or generating renewable electricity through photovoltaic systems for self-generation, with the possibility of storage. The Action aims to reduce dependence on oil or other conventional solid fuels and improve energy performance in the residential sector by replacing oil-fired heating systems, other conventional solid-fuel systems or conventional electric heating systems with heat pumps. In this way, the Action contributes to the electrification of heating in the buildings sector’s final energy consumption, a key component of the country’s strategic planning, and will help reduce the sector’s dependence on fossil fuels. The Action also seeks to improve buildings’ thermal insulation and enable renewable electricity generation through photovoltaic systems for self-generation and possible storage, further improving energy performance and saving primary energy.
